OUR MISSION IS TO DEMOCRATISE ACCESS TO GENOMIC TESTING, PERSONALISE HEALTHCARE, AND IMPROVE OUTCOMES

Integrating Genomics into Medicine (IGM)

Integrating Genomics into Medicine is led by Associate Professor Aideen McInerney-Leo and Dr Tatiane Yanes, at the University of Queensland.

Our team is made up of researchers from diverse backgrounds including genetic counsellors, medical doctors, and health sciences. We apply social and implementation science methodologies to bridge the gap between genomic discoveries and real-world clinical application, ensuring that genomics advances lead to meaningful improvements in healthcare.

Our research focuses on the following areas: polygenic risk scores in clinical practise, mainstreaming genomic testing, genomic ethical, legal and social issues (ELSI), and gene discovery.

The IGM team  welcomes applications from prospective research students interested in clinical genetics, genomics, mixed-methods research and health translation.

Please contact us with any questions about our current research, study opportunities, how you can help our research, or how we can help you. We’re excited to hear from you!
